Hi, I’m Chee Kien and I’ve been a Genesis Gym client since March 2017.
I used to do yoga and go to the gym on my own before signing up with Genesis Gym. But I’ve come to realize that neither of the 2 activities have truly helped me to get lean and improve my overall fitness.
Moreover, I was feeling tired easily and experiencing breathlessness when climbing stairs. Although my weight was considered healthy, I had a tummy and really didn’t feel I looked good for my frame.
So earlier this year, I’ve made a personal resolution to improve my overall health and physique, and to get lean and look fitter. I wanted a place that can push me to train harder and know what’s best for me.
Stepping into Genesis Gym for the first time, I knew I had come to the right place. It has all the weights, battling ropes and dumbbells that told me that they are serious about getting their clients their fitness results.
The Genesis coaches are approachable and they make an effort to remember my name, even before I got to know them individually. It’s very much like being part of a big family who cares about you. Regardless of how bad my day went or how tired I get, I always feel supported and at ease at the gym, right from the very first session onwards.

People around started to notice that I looked leaner and more refreshed. I find that mentally, I also became more resilient and focused. I was able to handle stress better and was happy with the day-to-day progress.
All this was possible because of the constant communication and updates from the Genesis coaching team, plus the innovative customized training routine that helped to push for results. Throughout my training, coach JJ and coach Jen constantly followed up with my nutrition and sleep habits to make sure that all these problems are tackled properly.
It’s been quite a fruitful journey with Genesis Gym so far, with some ups and downs, no doubt. With the proper coaching guidance, I’m sure I’m heading in the right direction, and I am confident that I will get to my fitness goals in due time.
My family and friends have also been encouraging all this while, and my significant other has been very supportive as well. I often hear comments from them that I am looking better and getting really disciplined throughout this journey. I hope my transformation will inspire some of them to start taking charge of their own health and fitness goals as well.
I am now into my 3rd programme with Genesis! I have also made a pact with my friends, known as Project Bali. When I get my 6 packs, that’s where we are going to celebrate! And thanks to Genesis Gym and its team of coaches, I think we’ll be booking our air tickets soon.
