“What was great with Genesis was the coaches’ keen guidance and encouragement to get me back on track despite these 2 roadblocks. They gave me sound nutritional advice and adjusted my training programme to help me gain back the momentum in training.”
(Fraser Robertson, 36, Genesis Gym Raffles Place)
I’ve been training with Genesis Gym since late December 2016. At that time, I had put on weight from what I was a while a few years ago and not heading in the right direction with my previous training regime.
I previously had a personal trainer for a few years but felt that in the end this had to stop. I was not heading in the right direction with my goals that I wanted to achieve. But I stuck with it as it became part of a weekly routine for me.
Thinking about it now, I really should have stopped wasting my time then. Because I ended up putting on more weight than losing it in the process.
That prompted me to find a place with the right people who had the knowledge to help put me on the right track to achieve the results I want. And after some research online, I found Genesis Gym and decided to come in for a consultation. My first impression with Genesis was that this was a fresh approach to what I had been accustomed to in the past. The coaches are professional and friendly and very willing to aid you while training, but also giving me the space to truly learn what I was doing. Moreover, the gym setup was just what I wanted – somewhere I could use more free weights than just machines.
A few months down the line, I started to notice improvements in my overall physique. And this is only possible with the correct guidance and knowledge of the coaches at Genesis. There are still more changes that I will hopefully get with my overall physique of 12% body fat and body weight of 70-73kg.
I did have couple of setbacks with my training this year one, one being illness and the other was a long trip to Europe. Both of which did set me back as it became difficult to eat the correct foods in both circumstances and train too.
But what was great with Genesis was the coaches’ keen guidance and encouragement to get me back on track despite these 2 roadblocks. They gave me sound nutritional advice and adjusted my training programme to help me gain back the momentum in training.
Since joining Genesis Gym, it has given me a more positive outlook in respect to feeling better about myself. Other than the expertise in strength training, Genesis Gym had so much knowledge in nutrition in overall health. They have helped me to root out foods that don’t agree with me and start to eat better and maintain a daily routine.
I used to feel bloated and was holding on to water weight and the coaches helped me to eliminate foods that caused these problems. And it has helped tremendously.
My family and friends have noticed that I have lost weight and look leaner and healthier. Not something easy to achieve as we get on with age! The results I’ve achieved so far only push me to get even leaner and healthier. I aim to get to a stage where I am happy with my physique and be able to maintain it, through everything I’ve learned with Genesis Gym.The most important things in life to me are family and my friendships. Seeing what I have achieved so far with Genesis Gym, is also a wake-up call for them, and I hope they will overcome the mental hurdle for them to want to achieve their own health goals too.
And to those around me who are still hesitating to take the first step, I would say this – Think of what you want to achieve in life and how much dedication are you willing to put in to achieve your goal. No one says it’s easy. But the journey to achieving your goal is every step empowering.
Everyone has their own idea on how much they want to put into fitness, even a little bit each week is better than none. In the end, it is time you need to set aside for yourself which if your hearts in it then you will do it. Also, its go to be something you enjoy doing otherwise it’s not fun which it is meant to be.
And I’m glad I found that with Genesis Gym.
